I think Marchionne can do it, as he is going through the same motions Iacocca did when he got there in terms of screening the execs. However, that may be a moot point: the Fiat deal is the best Chrysler can do, and without it, the company would have disappeared. A logical and quick next step would be to get some new grilles on to the Grande Punto and Bravo and brand them Dodges, and to tool up in Tolucá (where the 500 will emerge from anyway); and keep Chrysler in the medium to large sectors with the refreshed 300.
