Dear Vox, let Me control Snap Shot spam

Snap Shots pop-ups, seen on Vox when you hover over external links, are the most annoying creation in the history of the Internet*.

Unfortunately, although you can disable them, Vox don't give the author any control to decide if they appear. There appears to be no "Stop polluting my blog with Snap Shot" option. You'll have to turn them off assuming you don't block or clear, cookies - which you should - which means they'll come back :-(

Turning off graphic previews on all sites

If you'd rather not see the graphics previews on any of the sites you visit, you can also disable Snap Shots on all sites. This can be set up from within any Snap Shot popup. Hover the gear on the top of the preview, and then select "disable" from the menu. There are options for disabling on All sites or just the current site. Note that this makes use of cookies, so if you clear your cookies, you'll need to reset this option

Maybe you can tell me. Do these snapshots stay on RAM memory until you clear the page? I go sailing around the VOX blogs and read and generally view snaps to determine whether their references are legit but my computer begins to bog after a few minutes or hours depending on what I've been up to. If those snaps are the cause, I will disable them. I'd rather open the link than bog down. Sometimes, while composing a new article, I will leave the computer on for days with research up in several windows until the article is completed. I clear caches, keep the popup blocker tuned up, keep the virus detector/blocker tuned up, but it took less than a week for this to begin on my Christmas present from me laptop.
